Q. Do you have a printed brochure?
To keep our costs down, we do not have a printed glossy brochure.  Much of the information you require is available via our website. We believe as your wedding day will be unique we find it’s good to have a personal chat about your requirements and the services we can provide you. We believe you get a much better idea of the quality of our photography and albums when you see them in front of you.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or require any additional information or if you would like to make a no obligation portfolio viewing.

Q. What Areas Do You Cover?
We’re based in Baildon between Bradford, Leeds, Ilkley, Harrogate but that doesn’t mean we can’t travel further. Our weddings are mainly in the Yorkshire region but we cover the whole of the UK and occasionally International. Recent wedding locations include Lincoln, Hull, Guildford and Pitlochry.

Q. What is the pre-wedding meeting for?
The pre-wedding meeting is where we get together with the Bride and Groom, generally 2/3 weeks before the big day, and discuss what photographs are required. Your day will be unique; it’s impossible to have a standard set list of shots that are taken on the day so we find out what shots YOU want taking. This is a critical part of our wedding service, so you receive the coverage you want.

Q. What is the Online Viewing Service?
After your wedding has been photographed, we upload the images to an online password protected gallery (as well as receiving the full collection in your Image Proof Album). This is ideal for those who have travelled a long distance to attend the wedding or for those who couldn't make it at all. The online viewing service also allows Guests to make their own purchases of the photographs.

Q. Can I view the demo sample albums?
Yes. Simply telephone Michelle on 01274 643942 / 07971 801424 and make an appointment to pop in. The meeting is very informal and you are under no obligation to book. We’ll be happy to have the opportunity to show you our work.

Q. What wedding albums do you supply?
We use all the main manufacturers of wedding albums. We offer a range of storybook and traditional albums for a range of budgets. If there’s a particular supplier you like that we’re not currently offering we can tailor a package to suit your requirements.  There’s so much on offer.

Q. Do you contract out your wedding photography service?
No. We never sub contract out work by bringing in external photographers to cover your wedding day. All weddings booked with Michelle Heseltine Photography are covered by Michelle, principal photographer, Paul and Julian.
We believe it’s important to give you a personal service. Not everyone feels naturally comfortable in front of a camera so we pride ourselves in making sure you have a chance to get to know your photographer and they understand what you want from them before your wedding day even starts.

Q. I am getting married in 2022/23 Is it too early to book now?
We recommend that as soon as you have chosen a wedding date, booked your wedding venue and received confirmation. Its then time to book all other services required for your wedding day, to ensure you receive your preferred supplier.  The high quality of the work we produce and our affordable prices means we can be booked up to two years in advance.

Q. Do you do a pre-wedding site visit?
Yes. Approximately 2/3 weeks before your wedding we generally make trip to your chosen wedding location and encourage you to join us if you want. We use this time to take a walk around the location to look for suitable shooting areas and to introduce ourselves to the Minister, Vicar, Registrar, Wedding Planner etc. It’s important for us to know what you like about the venue you’ve chosen as if there’s a particular feature about the venue that has brought you there we should know about it.  It’s also another opportunity for us to get to know each other and show that personal service we want to achieve.

Q. Do you provide a written contract?
Yes.  We provide a written contract. It lays down in writing what we’ve agreed, our exact obligations, agreed prices etc and gives you peace of mind knowing you have a written document.

Q. Why don't you do just one wedding package?
Each wedding is unique... and each wedding couple’s requirements are different, so our ranges of packages allow you to choose what you do want, and more importantly, don't want.  Our packages offer flexibility and are very cost effective.

Q. Can I add something to the package - for example a canvas print/ DVD presentation slideshow?
Yes. We tailor our packages and create a bespoke package just for you, simply add any of our “extras” onto of set packages. If what you would like is not in our additions section, simply let us know and we will give you a quote.

Q. What backup equipment do you bring to the wedding?
We always bring a full range of backup equipment to every wedding. This includes, backup digital cameras, extra storage cards, spare batteries and if when the weather is wet or looking like it might rain we bring a portable studio for if we have to shoot indoors.

Q. Why do you supply two photographers at a wedding?
It’s simple, no matter how good a photographer is, one photographer cannot be in two places at the same time. Sometimes the best moments are those which happen away from the main focus of things. A second photographer unobtrusively captures the smiles, hugs and joy that a lone photographer will often miss. By using two photographers at weddings we capture more of your big day resulting in a wider range of images to choose from for your album.

Q. What about booking fee retainers and balances?
The booking retainer fee required to secure a date is £200.00. This amount, which is non-refundable should you cancel your booking, is then deducted from your final price. Once this fee is paid, the booked date is allocated to you. The remaining payments and balance can be paid in instalments; one mid-term payment with final balance paid no later than 3 weeks following your wedding day or you can pay it as one balance payment no later than 30 days before your wedding day.

Q. OK. How do I book?
First it is important to give us a call on 01274 643942 to ensure your date is still available. If your date has not been allocated you may then either make an appointment to see us and we'll sort out your paperwork or we can post it out to you following a further chat on the phone. Booking Retainer Fees may be paid by cheque, cash (in person) or online banking for your convenience.
